Hey there, Pearls! Welcome to episode 1 of Season 3 of Just 2 Pearls. Jaimie and Porsha can't wait to share more adventures in pearls with you. Cannon, they tell you about their summers and about all they are looking forward to accomplishing in the fall, they give you a preview of the next few episodes of Just 2 Pearls, they invite you to add your voice to their bi-weekly discussions, and of course, they share their petty pearls. How was your summer? What are you looking forward to accomplishing in the last quarter of the year? Let us know by emailing us at adventures@just2pearls.com. Rooting for Everybody Black

Hey, Pearls! On this episode, Jaimie and Porsha root for everybody black. Jaimie kicks off the show with a reflection from Dr. Brittany Cooper's recent book, Eloquent Rage. Then, Porsha shares about a Mother's Day outing with her mom to see the Alvin Ailey dancers in New York City. After those opening segments, the Pearls remember the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. James Hal Cone, the Father of Black Liberation Theology. The Pearls dedicate the bulk of the episode to the First Annual Just 2 Pearls Black Excellence Awards. Members of the African diaspora living in the United States did too many pearly things to name this year, but Porsha and Jaimie managed to choose eight stand-outs to give "Black Excellence Awards." Even with those eight, they still had more to name! Stick around until the end of the episode to learn who received honorable mentions. Jaimie and Porsha know they have some excellent listeners, please write to them to share your excellent moments from the past year. Listen now on SoundCloud, Apple Podcasts, or Just2Pearls.com. Follow the show on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @just2pearls. Email adventures@just2pearls.com. Thank you for listening, and remember to cultivate the pearl within you!
